Commonplace in communities across the nation, emergency notification systems allow local officials to quickly and effectively alert citizens in the event of a natural disaster or man-made emergency. Recently, Klamath County purchased an emergency notification system known as CIVICREADY®. This opt-in system, allows citizens of Klamath County to sign up to receive emergency notifications through email, text message, and voice calls. After subscribing to CIVICREADY®, citizens will receive evacuation notifications and other emergency alerts, and also be able to subscribe to National Weather Service Weather Alerts. Klamath County officials hope that the implementation of this system will help to keep citizens safe and informed in the event of a major disaster or emergency. Click on the CIVICREADY® icon at the bottom of any page on the Klamath County website to sign up to receive emergency alerts.
