Welcome to the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office Home Page. We are fortunate as we live, work and play in one of the most beautiful counties in Oregon. Klamath County, located on the eastern side of the Cascade Mountain Range, is approximately 6135 square miles of patrolled area. This makes us the fourth largest county in Oregon. We are bordered by California to our south, Lake County on the east, Deschutes County on the north and Jackson County to our west. We patrol 28 lakes and many other additional waterways (approximately 108,597 surface acres of water) which translate to almost 20% of the surface acres of water for the state. Our deputies cover a vast area of diverse geography. Klamath Falls is our largest city (population 20,840) whose elevation is 4099 feet. Deer, cattle, buffalo, sheep and every imaginable species of bird abounds in our county. We are a ranching, farming, business and rural residential county and we pride ourselves as being a friendly, law-abiding and hospitable people.

Klamath County Sheriff’s Office has approximately 90 sworn personnel and in addition, an amazing cadre of reserve and volunteer personnel.   As an example, our Marine Unit, Dive Unit, Small Boat Rescue, Posse, Search and Rescue Teams (plural) to name just a few, are the best in the state. Our M.V.P. (Mature Volunteers Program) do everything from staffing our Administrative Office to assisting with Search and Rescue missions, vacation residential home checks and everything in-between. We are blessed to have wonderful and caring people to serve the residents and visitors to our county. As you look further into our web page you will see we provide services that mirror that of urban law enforcement….we just have a more beautiful place to work!
