Low Water Featured

Written by

Klamath County is again experiencing low water and low visibility conditions in county waterways. The KCSO Marine Division has responded to a significant number of calls for assistance for boats that have run aground or struck hazards in Klamath County waterways in recent weeks.

As a courtesy reminder KCSO Small Boat Rescue will be posting low water signage at various boat ramps throughout the county starting Sunday 8/11/2013.

Due to the size of Klamath County and its numerous waterways is difficult if not impossible to place warnings at every ramp or access point.

Boaters should be reminded that due to low water conditions they may not be able to safely access some areas of Klamath County lakes and rivers normally accessible with high to average water levels. Boaters are urged to use caution in all Klamath County waterways but special attention should be taken on Klamath Lake, Agency Lake, Willow Valley and Gerber Reservoir’s and the Sprague and Link Rivers.
