Klamath County Sheriff's Office

continues to the hunt for persons of interest in operation Trojan Horse

On August 06, 2014, Samuel SILVA-Morelos applied for admission into the United States at the San Ysidro, California Port of Entry (POE). SILVA told officials that he was going to Los Angeles, California. Investigators from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Medford Oregon were notified of SILVA’s attempted entry into the United States. HIS Medford contacted Detective Eric Shepherd from the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office in order to help identify SILVA-MORELOS. SILVA-MORELOS was wanted in connection with Operation Trojan Horse which originated in Klamath County. SILVA-MORELOS was identified as drug source during the course of the investigation.

HSI Medford verified SILVA’s identity and active warrant out of Klamath County, Oregon. HSI Medford agents provided Customs and Border Protection Officers (CBPO) with the warrant and asked he be logged in the San Diego County jail on his drug related charges.

Although Operation Trojan Horse was concluded on May 15, 2013 the search for SILVA-MORELOS did not end. Due to the relentless efforts and open communication between local, State and Federal agencies, SILVA-MORELOS will be held accountable for his crimes committed in Klamath County during Operation Trojan Horse. It is believed that SILVA-MORELOS fled to Mexico following Operation Trojan Horse and remained there until now.
