[ARCHIVED] Grants for businesses impacted by the Governor’s “freeze” Executive Order.

The Klamath County Commissioners are announcing help for businesses impacted by the Governor’s “freeze” Executive Order restrictions.  The County is scheduled to receive just over one million dollars from the State to distribute. The Board of Commissioners has asked South Central Oregon Economic Development District (SCOEDD) to distribute the funds via a grant program, prioritizing “freeze” impacted businesses. This round of grants will be a minimum award of $5,000.00 and a maximum award of $10,000.00 per business.

Impacted businesses are eligible if they can demonstrate a loss related to the “freeze”, have 100 employees or fewer and have not previously received Coronavirus Funds from the State (businesses who received Paycheck Protection Program funds are still eligible).

“This is an extremely challenging time, we hope this helps offset some of the struggles our local restaurants, bars and fitness facilities are facing” said Chair Kelley Minty Morris.

“These dollars will help our businesses through this shutdown but they are not the cure. We need to remember to shop locally and support our neighbors” said Commissioner Derrick DeGroot.  “We also need to get ahold of the case count in our community to prevent further restrictions being placed on us from the Governor, which means stay home when you are sick, be conscious about places and settings that put you at risk and make smart decisions for you and your family” DeGroot added.

To apply for a grant go to or contact SCOEDD at 541-884-5593.
