Eclipse activities begin this week.  Do you have cash on hand? Sales systems may be slow later this week.


Eclipse overview

Klamath County will provide some of the nation’s best views of the annular eclipse coming October 14, 2023. The moon will begin to move across the sun at 8:05 a.m. with the maximum eclipse happening at 9:19 a.m. The moon finishes its path of blocking the sun at 10:41 a.m.

Limited cell service, slow internet

Most of the best viewing areas for the eclipse have very limited or no cell service. Due to the anticipated use of technology, expect slow internet.

    Non-emergency number Klamath County Sheriff and Oregon State Police: To make a non-emergency report call 541-884-4876 and use key option No. 4. This non-emergency call makes a report, generates an incident and is tracked but does not interfere with the emergency side of 911 dispatch.
